Please be advised that on Friday, May 22, our email account was briefly compromised by an unauthorized third party, resulting in a spam email containing a malicious link being sent out to our contact list.
If you received an unexpected email from us containing a link or an unusual request, do not click the link or open any attachments. Delete the email immediately. If you have already clicked the link, we strongly advise reaching out to your IT support or running a security scan on your device. We have already taken immediate technical steps to fully secure my account, isolate the issue, and implement additional security protocols.
How to protect yourself
Because your privacy is our top priority, we strongly recommend you take these three simple, protective steps immediately to keep your personal information safe:
Step 1: Put a free Alert on your Credit. Call Canada’s credit agencies and ask them to put a "Fraud Alert" on your name. This is free and stops anyone from trying to open a bank account or credit card in your name.
Equifax Canada: Call 1-800-465-7166
TransUnion Canada: Call 1-800-663-9980
Step 2: Check and monitor your Property Title. If we completed a property or mortgage transaction together, you can request a quick "State of Title Certificate" from the BC Land Title office (LTSA) to verify that your home ownership records remain completely secure and unchanged.
Step 3: Watch for suspicious messages. If you receive any texts, phone calls, or emails asking you to click a link, send money, or give out your banking info, even if it claims to be from me, a bank, or the government. Do not reply.
Out of an abundance of caution, we are actively reviewing our data records and will contact individuals directly if further steps are recommended. We deeply value your trust and sincerely apologize for any inconvenience or concern this disruption may cause.
