Making a Will

A will is a legal document that outlines how a person's assets and property should be distributed after their death. It is a way for an individual to ensure that their wishes are followed and to ensure that their loved ones are provided for.

A will is important because it allows a person to choose who will inherit their property, rather than having the Province decide. It also provides an opportunity to name a guardian for minor children and to make specific bequests to charity or other organizations. Without a will, the distribution of assets and property may not align with the deceased's wishes and can lead to disputes among family members. A properly executed will helps ensure that the deceased's final wishes are respected and carried out in an orderly manner.
